fat belly's

portsmouth fat belly's, originally uploaded by Too Many Notes.

2 much Turkey = Fat Belly's

I have almost recovered from the holiday "overeating" syndrome (lets refer to it as HOS, shall we?)

I still feel bloated and my sister left "umpteen" different types of desserts for us to nosh on during the week (my fats cells thank you Alli). Recovery from HOS will be slow..however it is very possible Internet.
I have also joined a therapy group for those who have a fear of stuffed mushrooms (lets call it "fungusphobia"). I don't have the pic to show you now but my sister Chelli decided to surprise us all with a giant plate of the slimy things for our Thanksgiving feast. What an atrocity.

Vocab word for the week:
atrocity: the quality of being shockingly cruel and inhumane

Poor fungi...poor, poor fungi.

Full of Thanksgiving!!!

A thankful heart is a happy heart. I'm glad for what I have (that's an easy way to start!). Does this tune sound familiar to all you mommy's out there? Today is a great day to watch Madame Blueberry with your little ones (and maybe with your not so little ones!).

Have a blessed Thanksgiving~

try not to grumble...try not to grumble...try..try..try

mop and bucket., originally uploaded by kunkelstein.

Did you know that the name Parker has two meanings? One of the meanings is "keeper of the park"...this is the most common one people know of. Did you also know that it means "to try"?

When I found this out it actually made me cry. Parker doesn't mean to succeed or to always be happy, rich, or famous.

Nope.

It just means "to try".

Today internet, I am "trying" not to grumble. This can be hard for me. The Bible says to "do all things without grumbling or complaining" (this verse in itself can cause one to grumble...).

So, let me enlighten you as to why I am in a "grumbly sort of mood" today. We get a call from a "realtor "last night who wants to show the house...in one hour.

One hour internet.

Now, I've learned a lot with age and one of the things I've learned is that it is O.K. to say "No" .

So I said it.

No!

We set up an appointment for the lovely couple to come and see the house today at 10:00. Don't get me wrong, I think it is great that someone wants to see the house and of course this is what we have been praying for. I just have one question though???

Why the day... before... Thanksgiving?

Why?

I have things to do internet, classes to study for, groceries to buy. Most importantly....I was gonna sleep in this morning (yikes! Does this sound like grumbling?).

So if you are having a rushed about kind of day. And if you are feeling overwhelmed or under appreciated. If you clean your house for the holiday (or the realtor) and one hour later you can no longer tell that you cleaned. If you make a pie and it doesn't turn out well, if you stress because you do not have things exactly the way you wished them to be.

Remember that life is about loving, living and giving interent.....so "try" looking on the bright side. You won't regret it.

For, while enjoying the company of my dear family this Thanksgiving day...I will not have to smell the fungus. For the first time in years...no one is bringing the stuffed mushrooms.

Live free fungus....live free,

Ahh...life is good interent...indeed....life is good.

full of sunshine

Do you just wake up happy internet? I am happy today and I think it is because of many reasons i.e. (it is Friday, I get to eat out today, we might hook up with our Friday Farkle friends, etc)

I think I am really happy this morning because it is sunny. The sun warms my back and makes the colors of fall bright. The sun also reminds me that my windows need washing....but I am going to ignore that....until spring... possibly longer.

I hope you find something that makes you happy today.

acting like a kid

Hey internet,
Did you miss me? I was thinking about a friend of mine named Ronda (see most lovely picture) We were blessed to go to the "Women of Faith" confernece in Portland a few weeks ago.
We ate too much...
We slept too little...
We shopped and treated ourselves to something new...
We filled our hearts with worship...
We listened to some amazing women...
And of course.....

We jumped on the beds!
Never grow up internet......never

Jeff took this pic of the girls shoes lined up by the stairs...their feet are growing bigger than mine and frankly internet...this worries me.
Lilly is now an official "pre-teen".....and yes your prayers are always appreciated!

a celebration

Right after Lilly was born (literally seconds after she was born) I heard my sister Chelli say "look at your daughter Jodi, look at her".

We have never stopped looking since. We are so excited about who she is and who she will become. She is caring, kind, smart, loving, beautiful, empathetic, and filled with a servants heart. It is our greatest honor to care for her, to love her and to encourage her to become all that God has destined her to be.

If you see her today, give her a birthday shout out......she is one special girl.

Jodi

P.S. Ten girls coming to the party tonight....yikes!

a whisper

Can you see Him in the sun? He is there. Whispering so gently...so lovingly...come to me child...do not be afraid...I am with you.
We take a step...we fall down...we cry out.
He runs to us.
Lean on me child...hold My hand. Wrap yourself in my Love
My perfect Love.
We can do this...
We can do this...
Together, we can.
